Only 10% of people do this

Wow – I was listening to a program this morning on my way to work.

IT said: only 10% of people invest in continuing their education, knowledge, and skills.

The speaker said that is one of the reason many professional organizations mandate that professionals taking continuing education training to maintain their competence in practice.

He gave an example of a doctor who read a text many years ago and is outdated on effective practice.

Wow – that wouldn’t be good at all.

If you’re ready to invest in your own your potential as a recreational therapist then simply head over to my site for online training programs here:

What would it hurt do go beyond the 50 hours that you’re required to get? Why not learn more and become an expeRT in an area. Something to think about.

I’ve had an overabundance of CEUs for my two renewal periods with NCTRC.

Of course I had the 50 hours that are mandated. But I probably had close to 1,000 hours of continuing education credits that would have counted during my last evaluation period.

A college course counts as 45 out of the 50 CEUs needed. I earned a full master’s degree during both of my previous evaluation periods, including: M.S. Recreational Therapy in 2006 and a M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling in 2012.

I’ve earned credit for presenting at workshops, developing workshops for the W.Va., Ohio, and Kentucky Tri-state area, writing articles, and more.

Go the extra mile:
